Daniel Libeskind Tickets

Born in postwar poland in 1946, became an american citizen in 1965. Daniel Libeskind studied music in israel and in new york becoming a prodigy player. He left music to learn architecture . After getting his professional architectural degree at the cooper union for the advancement of science and art in 1970 in new york city and a postgraduate degree in the past and theory of architecture at the school of relative studies at Essex university in 1972. Daniel Libeskind won the rivalry for the berlin jewish museum in 1989, which opened to the public in september 2001 to wide public approval. The osnabrück city museum opened in july 1998, but till lately, in july 2002, the museum was open to the community. Daniel Libeskind is currently designing and constructing the twisting extension to the victoria & albert museum, london; the jewish museum in san francisco; the JVC university - colleges of public management, universities, atelier weil, a private atelier/gallery in mallorca, spain; the extension to the denver art museum, denver, colorado, a post graduate student center for the london metropolitan university and the extension to the royal ontario museum, toronto.

In february 2003, he was awarded with what is currently the most wellknown building project worldwide: the master plan design for ground zero and the world trade center site. Libeskind has trained and lectured at many universities universal. Currently he is the Frank O. Gehry chair at the campus of toronto; a professor at the hochschule für gestaltung, karlsruhe, germany and the cret chair at the university of pennsylvania. he was appointed a member of the european academy of rts and letters, and has been the recipient of numerous awards, most recently the 2001 hiroshima art trophy, the first architect so awarded, an award given to an artist whose work promotes international understanding and peace. he was awarded the 1999 deutsche architekturpreis (german architecture prize) for the jewish museum berlin; also the 2000 goethe medaillon for cultural contribution; in 1996 the american academy of arts and letters award for architecture and in the same year the berlin cultural prize; in 1997 an honorary doctorate from humboldt universität, berlin; also in 1999 an honorary doctorate from the college of arts and humanities, essex university, england; and most recently in 2002 an honorary doctorate from the university of edingburgh and an honorary dorctorate from depaul university, chicago. his work has been exhibited extensively in major museums and galleries around the world and has also been the subject of numerous international publications in many languages. his ideas have influenced a new generation of architects and those interested in the future development of cities and culture.
