Some NBA teams, especially those that have been around for a while, suffer from something of an identity crisis.

1967-68 Pro basketball returns to Denver Nuggets Tickets after 18 years in the form of the ABA Denver Rockets.
1969-70 The Rockets sign rookie Spencer Haywood, who grabs 31 rebounds in a game before leaving for Seattle of the NBA.
1979-76 Dan Issel and Rookie of the Year David Thompson lead Denver to the ABA Finals and a runner-up finish to Dr. J and the Nets.
1976-77 The Denver Nuggets Tickets race into the NBA by winning their first eight games-50 total.
1977-78 On the last day of the season, Thompson makes a bid for the NBA scoring title with 73 points against Detroit. Later that day, the Spurs' George Gervin nets 63 to nip Thompson by .07 points.
1980-81 In Alex English's first full season with the team, the Denver Nuggets start a string of five consecutive years averaging 120-plus PPG.
1983 On Dec. 13, Denver Nuggets Tickets drops a 186-184, triple-OT decision to the Pistons-the highest-scoring game in Denver Nuggets NBA history. Kiki Vandeweghe scores 51 points.
1987-88 Doug Moe guides Denver Nuggets to a 54-28 mark to win Coach of the Year honors.
1990-91 Denver Nuggets breaks its own NBA record for points allowed, yielding an average of 130.8 and winning only 20 games.
1993-94 Denver Nuggets shocks Seattle, becoming the first No. 8 seed in playoff history to eliminate a No. 1 seed.
1999-00 The Denver Nuggets hope a new gym brings a new direction as they move from McNichols Arena to the Pepsi Center.
2003-04 Led by rookie sensation Carmelo Anthony, Denver Nuggets improves by 26 wins over the previous season and makes the playoffs for the first time since 1995.
