Jim Haslett
Pro Career: Jim Haslett was named the thirteenth head coach in New Orleans Saints history on February 3, 2000. Owns second-best winning per¬centage, .530 in club history and in 2000 earned NFL coach of the year honors, won a division title, and led New Orleans Saints to their first-ever playoff victory. Jim Haslett joined the New Orleans Saints after three-year stint as defensive coordi¬nator of the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1997-99. Previously coached with the New Orleans Saints from 1995-96, Los Angeles Raiders from 1993-94), and NFL Europe's Sacramento Su New Orleans Saints rge from 1991-92. Career record: 35-31.
Background: Three-time defensive end All-America at Indiana University (Penn.) from 1975-78, and was inducted into College Football Hall of Fame in 2001. Second-round pick of the Buffalo Bills and was voted as Associated Press defensive rookie of the year in 1979 and as an AII-Pro in 1981. Played nine NFL seasons Buffalo 1979-1986, N.Y. Jets 1987. Began his coaching career at the University of Buffalo from 1988-1990.
Personal: Jim Haslett was born December 9, 1955 in Pittsburgh. He and his wife Beth, have three children-Kelsey, Elizabeth, and Chase.
