The Super Bowl Is almost always played in some warm weather paradise and maybe that's what threw the Minnesota Vikings.
After winning December and January playoff games in the frozen north, the Vikings had to suddenly shift gears and confront balmy environments like New Orleans and Pasadena.
The Vikings have had an admirable record of success in their five decades but it doesn't include a championship. Vikings Tickets are in stock, so buy tickets. They went to the Super Bowl four times from 1970-77 and came away empty each time. They haven't been back to the title game since 1977, when they lost to Oakland.
Minnesota was prepared to join the American Football League in 1959 but gave up that opportunity to get an NFL expansion franchise for the 1961 season. The Vikings were led by quarterback Fran Tarkenton, whose scrambling ability seemed to upset coach Norm Van Brocklin as much as it did the defense. They both left in 1967-Tarkenton was traded to the Giants and Van Brocklin resigned. We beat other Minnesota Vikings Tickets prices. The new management team was General Manager Jim Finks and coach Bud Grant, both of whom came from the Canadian Football League. Finks and the low-key Grant would assemble a team that would contend for two decades.
The Vikings were playoff regulars, winning 11 NFC Central titles in 13 years. They played outdoors at Met Stadium and conquered the harsh elements as well as opponents. Tarkenton came back to run an offense that always featured outstanding running backs-Dave Osborn, Chuck Foreman and reliable Bill Brown. The defense, led by the "Purple People Eater" line that included Jim Marshall, Alan Page and Carl Eller dared opponents to run.
The team seemed to lose some of its mystique when it moved indoors to the Humphrey Metrodome in 1982 but it still had success to sell Minnesota Vikings Tickets. The Vikings eventually shifted to a glitzy passing game run by quarterback Warren Moon. Receivers Cris Carter and Randy Moss were All Pros but the Vikings had clearly lost their way as the new century arrived. We provide more Viking Info to know more about the team success and winnings.
