The first annual ABBI Bucking Bull Classic, held Oct. 23-24 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, was an undeniable success. With a $300,000 reward, the most lucrative in bucking Professional Bull Riders History, the top bulls made some truly big bucks for their owners. Cowboy Chris Shivers may have walked away the overall event win¬ner with $10,086, but the real champion was Big Deal. The Page, Buck, and Shippy animal earned a whopping $108,000 after winning both rounds of competition and Professional Bull Riders Tickets. Big Deal had won $4,648 at ABBI Classic events prior to Las Vegas. H. D. Page exclaimed, "It's really special to win the first Bucking Bull Classic. Big Deal's a really good bull, and he came through for us." Big Deal scored 136.5 points in round one and 136.25 points in round two. He earned $4,000 Professional Bull Riders Tickets for each round win, and an additional $ 100,00 for being the event champion. Big Deal's total score of 272.75 was 3.5 points ahead of the number two animal, Don and Janette Kish's Smooth Move. Buy our cheap Professional Bull Riders Tickets. Smooth Move earned the Kish's $40,000 for being the runner-up. 'We're really happy with Smooth Move," said Don Kish. "$40,000 is a lot of money. It's amazing how far this industry has come."
Smooth Move went into the Classic ranked No. 34. He qualified to compete in Las Vegas after winning the ABBI event in Ogden, Utah. Kish believes it's important for bulls to be "green" at classic events, and didn't take the bull to any other classics, a strategy that obviously paid off. Doug Joseph/Don Brown's Evil Forces earned $30,000 for third while Lufkin Ranch & Rodeo's Zorro captured a fourth place finish that was good for $25,000 of Professional Bull Riders Tickets. Smooth Move finished second in round one with a score of 135.25. Zorro was third with135 points and Evil Forces took fourth with 134.5 points. In the second round, D & H Cattle Co: s Milk Man and Mitch Terra's Wildlife split the No. 2/3 position with 135 points apiece. Evil Forces took fourth again with 134.5 points. "I'm pleased with the way the event went," said ABBI Executive Director Joe Merrick.' There are always things we want to improve on, but to complete our first season of events with quality productions, in a fabulous venue, and to award the payoffs that we were able to sell Professional Bull Riders Tickets, is something we can all be proud of." The top 50 bulls who qualified for the event were paired up against 50 Professional Bull Riders Tickets athletes not competing in the Built Ford Tough World Finals. There were six judges focused solely on the bulls who could each award up to 25 points. The cowboys and stock contractors had high praise for the event.
Cody Custer, Professional Bull Riders board member, said, "It was really exciting. I think for the short time the ABBI has been established, it's going good. It's a really neat deal." Professional Bull Riders president Ty Murray was also pleased. "I think for our first year it was really good because we sold Professional Bull Riders Tickets. The entertainment potential for bull riding fans is definite¬ly there. We didn't plan on this new addition to the Finals to be a home run the first year. We looked at it as a growth year, and it exceeded our expectations-both financially and attendance-wise. You have to take steps like this for growth, and overall, I'm real happy where we are."
Aside from 2005 Professional Bull Riders PBR World Champion Shivers with 176 points, the winning cowboys at the Enterprise-sponsored event were Josh Koschel with 171.75 points and Lucas Dick with 169 points. Koschel won $5,390 and Dick took home $3,234 Professional Bull Riders Tickets for their efforts. The caliber of the livestock was so impressive that Cody Lambert, PBR vice president and director of live-stock, invited some of the animals to compete at the Professional Bull Riders World Finals later in the week. Big Deal got the best of Dan Henricks, while Wildlife also delivered a big zero to Fred Boettcher. Evil Forces proved too much for Paul Gavin to handle. Hebert/Frey's Shane bucked in two rounds and dismissed both Jaron Nunnemaker and Dave Samsel. Zorro was able to unseat veter¬an Michael Gaffney.
